The berserker is a combat juggernaut who wields the most powerful weapon in the game. The sight of these heavily armored fighters swinging their axes with seeming abandon can instill considerable respect in their enemies.

Berserkers fight with a two-handed axe. Like lancers, they use the heaviest armor possible to absorb blows and keep the attention of enemies. But the berserker differs from the lancer in one important respect: berserkers also learn similar support skills to the lighter armed and more mobile warriors.

Skill Overview

The berserker skill set is long on offense, including mighty overhand blows, whirling circular attacks, and foe-stunning groundshaker strikes. Assorted shouts buff the berserker and demoralize enemies. A devastating four-part combo establishes the berserker's presence on the battlefield, and builds the MP necessary for more advanced moves.

Although most berserker skills are strikes, many are effective against multiple enemies. Their arsenal also includes many self-support skills that enable them to solo effectively.

At times like this, an axe-wielder needs a friend. Berserkers have multiple ways of recharging their own MP, and can absorb damage dealt to a foe into their own HP. They have ways of increasing their strength to help end a fight quickly. Their ability to fend for themselves better than many classes, and their capacity for sheer destruction, give them a place of honor in any party.
